Patients
Could the diagnose Alzheimer's and Parkisonson's
diseasae instead be a treatable CSF disorder?
Up to 10% of all dementia patient could actually suffer from
NPH, which is a treatable condition.
If the circulation in the fluid (liquor) surrounding the brain
and spinal cord is disturbed, this may lead to the syndrome Normal
Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). The main symptoms are balance and
gait difficulties, with or without urinary incontinence and
dementia.
Likvor AB has new equipment for assessing the dynamics of this
system, to support diagnosis of NPH, as well as for follow-up after
surgical treatment.
